Sega did something rather different, they held an art exhibit for Yakuza 6: Το τραγούδι της ζωής at the the Gallery Nucleaus in Los Angeles, California. The exhibit was called the “Essence of Art” and featured various artists’ takes on the Yakuza 6 παιχνίδι.

The art wasn’t just there to be presented for gawkers and purveyors of prints, gamers who wanted to decorate their abode with a bit of high-life Feng Shui can do so by purchasing the prints from over on the Gallery Nucleus website.

The exhibit is currently still in effect and will be live over the course of the next week, where it started on March 17th and will wrap up on April 1st. Between that time gamers with a fine taste in art will be able to pick up the various prints at not-so-gamer-friendly prices. They range in price from $250.00 all the way up to $1,500.00.

On the upside, majority of the artists are Asian, so you mostly won’t be supporting typical San Fran-hipsters attempting to appropriate gaming culture in order to cash in on a few weebs and aloof otaku.

You can currently order the prints right now while they’re made available in limited quantities during the run of the exhibition.

Some of the prints are quite amazing, especially David Mack’s Beat Takeshi water painted portrait, and Tohru Patrick Awa’s framed print of Kataguruma.

If you happened to be at the grand opening of the exhibition, which was hosted by PlayStation Access’ Hollie Bennett, you could pre-purchase the Western version of Yakuza 6 at the event, as well as receive collector’s art books with a signature from Horitomo and Sato-san.
