Κάτω από το τρέιλερ The Belt έχει ο Frank Grillo να μαχαιρώνει και να χτυπά κόσμο καθ' οδόν για έναν καυγά

Υπογραφή Below The Belt: Brawl At Donnybrook is one part traveling adventure, one part romance, and one part revenge flick. It’s a small, interesting picture seemingly filled with violence and mayhem carried out mostly in what appears to be a badass portrayal turned in by none other than Frank Grillo.

The near two minute trailer for the film is somber, somewhat visually indolent, and at times shockingly jarring with how quickly it goes from an outbook indie flick to a crime-thriller with what appears to be graphic violence.

Below The Belt follows Jamie Bell, a country fighter on his way to the Donnybrook brawl, where 20 men enter into a cage and beat the living piss out of each other for a cash prize of $100,000. Bell is accompanied on his downstream journey by his lovely girlfriend and another kid. However, his girlfriend had an unfortunate run-in with Grillo’s character before hooking up with Bell, and Grillo is looking for revenge, leading him toward Donnybrook with malice in his heart and blood on his hands.

As Grillo makes his journey across the county to reach the Donnybrook brawl, he’s accosted by various individuals, to which he either beats them into a pulp or stabs them mercilessly. He’s also waylaid by the police, but it still doesn’t stop him from making his way to Donnybrook to partake in that 20 man brawl for $100,000. Along the way James Badge Dale goes on the hunt to bring the men to justice, but it doesn’t look like it turns out well for him.

The kind of stark, dark nihilism portrayed in the trailer reminded me a little bit of Καμία χώρα για γέρους.

The trailer doesn’t give away too much, but it definitely sets the stage for what looks like an interesting showdown in a bare knuckle royal rumble.

This is the kind of films that Scott Adkins need to be in or Jason Statham, but I guess in Statham’s case he’s co-starring with The Rock in Hobbs & Shaw so he doesn’t care about smaller, grittier pictures like this, but Adkins could definitely use something along these lines. λεωφόρος sort of comes close but not quite on this level.

Hopefully the fight scenes don’t disappoint in Below The Belt, but I guess we’ll find out when it hits DVD and Blu-ray on May 6th.
