The official launch trailer for Daedalic Entertainment’s Οι πυλώνες της Γης του Ken Follett has gone live ahead of the August 15th launch date for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

The upcoming interactive novel is based on the book, following a series of murders, adventure, intrigue and betrayal.

Οι πυλώνες της Γης is centered around an interactive retelling of the Kingsbridge saga, where players will be able to make decisions during specific events, as well as interact with other characters through the optional dialogue sequences. The game will span the likes of three books containing seven chapters each, with the first book being made available starting next week.

The game is set during 12th century A.D., England in the small town of Kingsbridge. Poverty and war beget the town’s disposition, with squalor and violence becoming ever the more prevalent.

The game centers around a small group of outcasts attempting to build a prominent cathedral within the region, facing many uphill struggles along the way.

The story is told through some awesome looking live 2D imagery, which are showcased in the trailer below.

The game will feature full voice acting, along with a full original soundtrack performed by the Filmharmonic Orchestra of Prague.

We don’t get to see many games like this come about, and if the interactions and actual gameplay are a little bit more in-depth and varied than what’s typically present in a visual novel, then I think there’s a good chance that Οι πυλώνες της Γης could end up becoming a sanguine hit amongst all the other drudge currently filling up the home consoles at the moment.
