After grossing over $2 Billion with Εκδικητές: Endgame one would think the video game adaptation of the Avengers would be surrounded by a massive amount of buzz and hype. Seemingly as if attempting to mirror the hype surrounding Phase 4, the Οι εκδηκητές του Marvel game’s own publicity has grown entirely stagnant.
Perhaps it is because of the lame-duck story with a strong female focus and gameplay so lackluster trailers now focused on cinematics rather than showcasing gameplay players will experience come launch. Alternatively, it could be argued that Endgame was truly the end for many who were into the MCU. Whichever the case, the end result is a game that doesn’t draw much in the way of buzz and its leaked achievements only reveal the game to be an incoming grindfest of an experience.
There isn’t much in the way of revelations that will surprise players among the achievements. Even the final revelation of the Kree working with AIM is more shocking in how it took the wizards of technology rivaled only by Belka in producing technological feats that prove Clarke correct and having them only produce machinations that a team of writers devoid of imagination could conceive. Contrast that to Sony’s Άνθρωπος αράχνη where AIM is shown to be producing some of the most advanced technology on the planet, which they deliver to Doctor Octavius in exchange for his cooperation.
Yet here the super-geniuses of AIM rely on studying the Inhumans and conspiracies to defeat the Avengers and conquer the world. Here they have access to the technology from the invasion of New York City and the Kree and yet can’t produce a single mind-blowing feat of technology other than a giant mech.
Truly a spectacular letdown.
