Ron Gilbert, best known for his work for the Monkey Island games and Maniac Mansion, has teamed up again with his partner Gary Winnick, to create their new point-and-click adventure game, Thimbleweed Πάρκο.

At first glance this game didn’t look very interesting to me so I was going to pass it up and ignore it when I received a press email about it. The game looked like just another mobile adventure game, until I took a closer look and saw that it was created by two of the original members of the classic LucasArts video game team from the late 80s and 90s.

Upon further investigation I saw that Thimbleweed Πάρκο wasn’t just a mobile game title, but it would also be released for Xbox One, Windows, Mac and Linux as well. The graphic art style has a retro pixel art design that looks like it came straight out of the 90s, and for the most part the UI is very similar to Monkey Island επίσης.

The story follows five characters that live in the Thimbleweed Πάρκο area, attempting to solve a murder mystery that may be tied to a larger, more sinister supernatural plot. The story seems to revolve around Delores Edmund and her uncle, who owned a large pillow factory. After the factory began to lose business and fall apart, the town fell into shambles. Delores’ uncle eventually passed away, And with his death, some strange events started happening all around town. Thimbleweed Πάρκο also reminds me of the Netflix Show πράγματα ξένος, I’m getting some major Barb vibes from the character Delores.
