A new Unreal Engine 4 first-person shooter called Φωτεινή μνήμη is set to come out on PC. It’s an indie title currently in development by FYQD Studio, and it features sci-fi weapons and medieval monsters… like dragons. The game recently received a six minute gameplay video, highlighting some of the combat, physics mechanics and environmental effects.

Εργολάβος Zeng Xiancheng has a video up of the gameplay over on his YouTube channel, which you can check out below. It covers some minion battles, a fight with a boss goblin, and a bit of platforming.

The opening of the video highlights the main character that players will control, and some of the visually impressive environments that you’ll be able to traverse through.

The game mixes in sci-fi magic abilities with traditional FPS combat. One really neat feature is that the HUD is located around the weapons instead of being spread out around the screen.

There are some pretty cool melee attacks that you can unleash as well, allowing you to make short work of enemies who try to get up in your personal space.

There’s definitely an element of Crysis in Φωτεινή μνήμη, given that players will need to engage in some first-person platforming and traversal, along with facing off against some wildlife, which makes it slightly reminiscent to Ubisoft’s Far Cry σειρές.

Mixing in combat with platforming, dungeon traps, special skills and some interesting looking enemies makes Φωτεινή μνήμη easily stand out from many other first-person shooter games out there.

As a demo, Φωτεινή μνήμη looks pretty cool. It reminds me of the Shadow Warrior remake fused with Crysis και Legendary: The Box.

Xiancheng’s FPS is due for release at some point in 2018. The game looks very far along in development so far, and at least it’s not another e-sports-ready microtransaction loot fest.
