EA και BioWare's Ύμνος is currently under development and is scheduled to launch for PC, PS4 and Xbox One sometime later this year during the fall. Reportedly, the game is set to debut without the much talked about “dynamic difficulty adjustment” system.

It’s also worth keeping in mind that just because something has been patented or under consideration doesn’t necessarily mean that it will make it into the game or at launch.

Moreover, the publication site found over onReddit (σελίδα 1, σελίδα 2) thread, a discussion about the dynamic difficulty adjustment algorithm. This led to Anthem‘s technical design director, Brenon Holmes, to step in. Holmes, noted that…

“I’m not sure where this is really coming from… we’re not doing any of that though.”

In addition to the above, many people did not have so much of a problem with the difficulty thing. The problem that fans had with the system is EA finding a way to manipulate the naïve’s wallet.

Given that EA has a significant desire for loot-boxes and microtransactions, which the former is being discussed over at BioWare whether it should be in Υμνος, many believed that the above patent would make an appearance in the upcoming action-RPG, but for the worse.

One last thing worth pointing out, just because this dynamic difficulty adjustment system may not see a debut at launch in Ύμνος, EA showed us with 1 Battlefield that future updates can bring paid loot-boxes and other shady practices regarding stuff like the Desert Gold skin.
