Storycentric Worlds and Unimatrix Productions announced that Καταστροφικό Στάδιο is set to release on May 14th. The game is designed as a murder-mystery graphic novel, paying homage to many of Agatha Christie classics, specifically Και τότε υπήρχαν Κανένας. The actual gameplay is closer to the likes of classic mystery-oriented, first-person point-and-click games.

The game is themed around six individuals who have been kidnapped by a mysterious individual and locked away inside of an abandoned penitentiary. The objective is to scour the prison and find clues while uncovering the mystery as the six begin to drop dead.

The game utilizes a graphic novel style presentation, reminiscent of the old Nancy Drew games from Her Interactive, or the classic Sierra titles like Φαντασμαγορία.

The gameplay centers around collecting items, reading notes, and solving various puzzles.

The premise and setup seems very similar to movies like SAW or the off-beat murder-mystery Danganronpa games. Obviously, this title is made on a much lower budget, and it’s missing the mini-games of Spike Chunsoft’s series.

Καταστροφικό Στάδιο clocks in at over 10 hours, and sports two different endings depending on the choices you make throughout the game.

Surprisingly, this graphic novel, murder-mystery actually supports fully voiced characters, which is shocking for a low-budget title.

Visually it looks like the characters were designed in Poser and then exported into backgrounds made in Unity or Unreal, but given an outlined shader filter in order to imitate a graphic novel design.

Murder mysteries aren’t frequent enough to be trite like other pixel-point and click games, so there’s a possibility that a small niche audience might be attracted to a game like Καταστροφικό Στάδιο.
